HIP (Home Information Pack)

Hello Guys , today I am going to talk about HIPs.........? Have heard of it before? NO , What!!!!.

Well its an acronym for Home Information Pack, from 10 September, all homes in England and Wales with 3 or more bedrooms will need a Home Information Pack (HIP), which includes a home energy rating. The Pack includes an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC), containing advice on how to cut carbon emissions and fuel bills. Also included are documents such as a sale statement, searches and evidence of title.

Early results show that HIPs is already reducing costs and improving transparency in the housing market. The average pack takes 5 days to compile. Home owners can get HIPs compiled from their estate agents, the average cost in the market is around £300 plus VAT.

It sounds like its expensive but it is worth it in the long run as the results show today 66% of market is covered by HIPs , it gives a complete detail of the property , helps cut carbon emissions and save on energy consumption.
